Hi Earl,

Thanks for the kind words (for which I'll give you a pass on butchering my name :).

I'm looked at your site and I don't see the grey text. Is this still a problem or were you able to resolve it?

Nina -

GREAT plugin!

Just installed it on my website (earlnewton.com), and everything is great, except the text is all gray. I'm not sure what would be doing that (I suspect my theme may be messing with it, but I can't understand why the scrippet.css wouldn't override the theme's settings).

Terrific work, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Happy Holidays -

Actually the Blog mentioned above http://drehbuch-szenen.blogspot.com/ is visible for everyone. Feel free to judge. It is completely formatted with the help of Scrippets. Godsend thing it is. :-)

It works pretty good. One thing, don't use colons (:) in dialogues. These double dots seemingly derange, what comes afterward and create other unexpected oddities.

However, thanks so much for Scrippets.

Hello Guys,

I just wanted to let you know, that I just recently started my secret project at blogger.com.
In short: I'm going to post an entire script (wonderfully formated by "scrippets" of course), one scene one post. Well, it's an project for educational purposes, I just want to see how it's gonna work out.

You see, I'm playing for keeps. ;-)

(Right now, it is closed, I have to invite you to watch and post. Another drawback for you, the Blog is in German. ;-) For me it is something like a proof of concept.

Thanks so much for scrippets.

I think I could slip that into the plugin on the next update.

In the meantime you can work around this by just typing the whole thing in all caps (it should look the same as a sceneheader under the default CSS, but no promises).

Hello Folks,

first off, I really appreciate the artful work on "Scrippets". It's brillant. Thanks.

Now to the (inevitable) question. ;-)

Maybe it is just me. Well, I'm not a native English guy, so I guess no one else came across this particular issue I've got so far. Though, I really really would like to start a "Sceneheader" by writing the words "INNEN" (that's INT.) and "AUSSEN" (that's EXT.) respectively. Right now, by definition, you have to write either "INT." or "EXT." to create a sceneheader. Just allow to write INNEN and AUSSEN respectively. That would be gorgeous.

However, thanks for the work.

Best

Hey everybody,

I just updated Scrippets to support bold, italic, and underline text. Full explanation is here and in the new readme.txt file.

Note that styling doesn't work in transitions or sluglines. Let me know if that's something you guys feel passionate about seeing supported.

If you find any bugs in the styling please let me know.

Hi cpsimone,

It's looks like this is a parser issue, so in order to help you I would need you to copy and paste your input here exactly as you entered it.

However, my guess would be that you might have extra spaces in between your lines. There can't be a space between character cues and dialogue, for example. It should look like this:

GUY
I'm talking to you now.

If there's a blank line between the cue and the dialogue that's your problem.

If you're not adding the line yourself, make sure the WordPress input box is set to "HTML", and NOT Visual. Visual mode automatically adds spaces that mess up the Scrippets parser.

If those don't work please post your input here and I'll take a look at it.

Thanks.

Hi there,
For some reason I can't get the plugin to indent my dialogue properly. Please refer to this page as an example: http://www.cpsimone.com/about/. As you can see it is all left-justified. I have tried inputting the dialogue with lined spaces and all on the same line but nothing seems to change it. Any ideas?

thank you.

"thanks, it turns out it was FCKEditor that did the formatting. When I save the post with WordPress's internal editor, it works."

Ah. That makes sense. I'll still look into language issues. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

"Do you have any idea yet what happens to the underlining?"

Sorry about that, but right now HTML isn't allowed inside the scrippet block. I've had other people request underlining and bolding, and I have a plan to put it in, but probably via Markdown/Textile-like mark-up (ie, *bold*, _underline_, #italic#) or something like that. Check back in a week or so. :-)

OJ,

I've got it now. Your blog is converting the umlaut (letter with dots) into an HTML element, and that's messing up the parser. This board doesn't do that, nor does my local version of WordPress, so my guess is that it has to do with the language setting of your version of WordPress.

I'm going to need to play around with this to figure out how to work around the language settings. I'll keep you guys posted.

In the meantime, if you really want it to work, I think you could switch to the English version of WordPress. That _should_ fix the problem.

I love the plugin, but I'm running into the same problem as Joo (only for the German Ö instead of the Portuguese É):

FRANK

Wie lange macht ihr das jetzt schon?

SÖREN

Na ja, seit dem zweiten Semester halt.

MARKUS

(lachend)

Im ersten ist uns das passiert.

(I find that I have to separate the character name from the dialogue by a line break

for the formatting to work, which is fine, but I don't know if it will work here.)

Also, any emphasized dialogue is shown without the underlining.

You can see examples for both here: http://oj.hwel.de/nix-is. Scroll to the bottom for some examples of "SÖREN" and search for "uns das" to see that "uns" is not underlined, and believe me ;) that it contains
<u>
tags in the editor.

Oh, I'm using WordPress on my own site.

In the Edit CSS box you're looking for the following (near the top of the CSS you added):

div.scrippet {
width: 400px;
.....

Change that the width number to change the width of the box. You need to make sure to leave the "px" at the end of the number, though (it stands for "pixels"). You can play around with that number until you find one that you're happy with.

Great!

Yes, the theme you're using is messing up the scrippets box because that area isn't as large as the scrippet box. You can change the size of the scrippet box by modifying the "width" property of the div.scrippets CSS, or you can try a different theme.

Hi Anna,

I looked at your website and the CSS is there. I didn't see what post has Scrippets in it so I can't see why it might not be working.

Do you have a post with a Scrippet in it?

Well, Nima.

I purchased the upgrade. I re-copied and -pasted the code into the CSS editing box. And then I saved it. But Scrippet still doesn't work.

I'm at a loss.

I don't know what I've done wrong. Unless a scene doesn't show up properly formatted until it´s been published on the blog (so far I've just taken a look at the preview).

Oh, so this explains it! No, I haven't purchased the upgrade.

Anna,

WP.com makes you pay for the ability to edit CSS. From the Edit CSS page, do you have the "Custom CSS upgrade" link, or have you already purchased the upgrade?

I'm baffled -- I can't get scrippet to work on my WP blog. I'm clearly doing something wrong.

I followed the instructions and pasted the code into the CSS (which is to say, into a box under the DESIGN - EDIT CSS tab).

I have the "Add this to the Regulus theme's CSS stylesheet" button ticked.

Burt there's no Save option (like "Save Template").

The scrippet instructions seem to imply that </style> is supposed to follow immediately after the code but I saw no </style>.

Am I entering the code in the wrong box or doesn't scrippet work with my theme (Regulus)?

The Scrippets Maker part works like a charm: I enter my screenplay text into the box and it looks perfectly formatted in the preview. I copy the converted text into my blog but surly WP is having none of it. Apparently I haven't managed to add scrippet to the CSS.

Needless to say I know absolutely nothing about CSS, never paid thought to stuff like this before JA initiated this great plugin.

Cheers, Anna

OK, I think I figured it out. The problem is that the
scrippets.css
isn't the last CSS declaration to appear in your HTML HEAD. So what's probably happening is your later theme CSS is overriding the
scrippet.css
. In your
header.php
file (or
index.php
if you don't have a
header.php
), is your theme CSS being added after the
<?php wp_head() ?>
tag? If so, move it above it. That should work. If it doesn't, I'm baffled.
